a very special wedding
I wanted to share these pictures earlier, but there are too many lovely pictures that it took some time to edit. The wedding took place in Washington D.C. at The National Cathedral (www.nationalcathedral.org), and the weather was just perfect. The bride and groom looked absolutely delightful! and it was even more special because the bride’s sister is a very close friend of mine, and one of my best clients!

I used to shoot lots of babies’ first birthday celebrations. For many asian cultures, it is one of the biggest family events. It is usually done in a half traditional way and half modern way. This lucky Mr. handsome had the most amazing birthday table. All these beautiful ornaments and dishes were made personally by his mother which is a very traditional way to bless the child. Not only food, but, special clothing, hats, and belts, and all other arrangements have their own meanings of blessing. It was such a special moment, and Im glad I got to capture the details of the celebration and I wanted to share some shots with you all!

isn’t it so special???? more of his modern session images will be posted soon. - k
Busy winter?
More often than before, it feels like time just passes (doesn’t fly) when shooting. Just sent out holiday cards, had new year’s day.. and now we are heading towards February. Well, I had to update you all on my schedule and prepare myself for a trip soon.I will be out of the office 2/7~2/17. with limited access to voicemail and emails, most likely I will be returning calls and emails after I return. Where am I going to be??? The ones in Vancouver may see me teaching my children how to ski and snowboard at Whistler for a week! So exciting! And here are more updates for those of you who are interested in having a portrait session with me.There are few openings available in March and April. And again, if you are interested in Maternity / Newborn, please contact me asap! It is a good idea to leave a message even when I am away. New pricing will be announced in early Feb. And a great promotion will be also added to my website. So please come back for more updates! Finally, a post without an image is no fun. This pretty young lady is NOT a professional model, but looks very much so. Another beautiful person that I know.It snowed so much today in Maryland (it almost felt like I was still in Boston!). Meant to share these images for a long time and today was the perfect day to do so.

and the winner is…
I have received these entries!!! It was such a pleasure to listen to what others had to say about the storyboards. I love making storyboards to express what I felt at the shootings. I wondered how others would translate the images and the contest was just perfect to find out.I loved all of the stories!!!! It amazed me how creative, cute and fun each story was! So inspiring! - I am thinking about having more contests like this!!!We had three judges, and they all had a hard time choosing the winner! and the winner is kristin caine! please let me know your address to receive the prize. Congratulations!!

lovely family session
I thought this short slideshow will give a great idea what a session with me is like! Especially for those who plan to have a session soon!
[ please click PLAY at the center of the image to watch the show ]
This lovely session was done about three weeks ago. I loved the kids and the family so much that their galley is huge!!! It happens when I can not pick out my favorites. And honestly, it happens quite often.
[long sigh~~~ ] I just can not believe it is already December!!!! As of last week, my portrait session is officially over for this year~ (Currently I am booking Jan~ April 2009).
Next year, the number of portrait sessions/month will be reduced to make more room for other photography activities including giving workshops, travel sessions and commercial photography. If you are interested in having a session in spring, please contact me as soon as possible as it gets filled fast!
and let’s have a WONDERFUL end of the year!
xoxo,
